About Me

She/Her

I’m Kiana. Extroverted introvert, social introvert, outgoing introvert… all of these describe me perfectly. I love people. Interactions leave me super energized and drain the hell out of my social battery. I’m also a total bookworm. Popping in earbuds and getting lost in a good mystery or disgustingly mushy romance novel is my favorite escape. It’s my dream to add being an author to my many hats one day but despite being a chronic overachiever, my perfectionist tendencies can get in the way. Thankfully, I’ve had some pretty great therapists over the years that have helped me slow down, acknowledge my limitations, manage expectations, and show grace to the perfectly imperfect human that I am!

Hello!

I work with people that were led to believe, through crappy life experiences, that they are too much, not enough, unworthy, damaged, outcasts…the list goes on. People with wounds that can seem hard to face, or even detect, because they may reach all the way back to childhood. Yet, despite the passage of time, they still feel like they slam into a brick wall when the influence of their past sneaks into the present.

I know firsthand that addressing this can be challenging. By reaching out, you are gaining someone that will traverse the unknown waters of trauma by your side. I’ll help you regain control of your life and heal from your past. You’ll be the driver of our time together and I’ll serve as your trusty companion. I’ll support, challenge, and hold up that safety net so you can explore those roots and experiment with change in a secure place. I operate from a Humanistic and attachment approach, which means I view you as the expert of your life and recognize the importance of relationships to assist in recovery. We are all strong and have found ways to cope through this rollercoaster of life. That doesn’t mean we don’t need a little help sometimes!

As a female of color with a disability, I’ve personally felt dread that parts of myself will be seen as weak or inadequate to others. I’ve cried myself to sleep at night because I felt a soul-deep despair and loneliness that I never thought I’d overcome. While I recognize that we will all feel some of this at times, I also know that it doesn’t have to define or control us. This is what attracted me to this work. There’s a way forward. You can live the life you want.

Reach out today to take your first step.
I’m so excited to speak with you and join you on your journey!
